Thompson, died at the Senior Home, where she had been a resident for two years, Sunday evening, July 8, 1979. Urslena Arduser was born near Monticello, Iowa November 6, 1894, the daughter of Casper George Arduser and his wife, Ursula Schmidt Arduser. Urslena Arduser was born near Monticello, Iowa November 6, 1894, the daughter of Casper George Arduser and his wife, Ursula Schmidt Arduser. She had received her early education in the schools of Jones County. Urslena Arduser and James Thompson were married October 25, 1905. After their marriage, the couple farmed in Delaware County near Hopkinton, Iowa until 1942. They then moved to Monticello. Her husband, James, died January 11, 1961. She was a member of the Peace United Church of Christ, Monticello. She is survived by five children: Clarence Thompson, Coggon; Gene Thompson, Muscatine; Maurice Thompson, Monticello; Mrs. Roger (Ruth) Baldwin, Clarence; and Calvin Thompson, Cedar Rapids. She is also survived by fourteen grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, a son, Lloyd, in 1973; her parents; three brothers and two sisters. Funeral services were held at ten-thirty o'clock Wednesday morning, July 11, at the Peace united Church of Christ, and interment in Oakwood cemetery, Monticello. Rev. Charles H. Eversman officiated at the services. Casket bearers were Ralph Thompson, Richard Thompson, Brett Baldwin, Gordon Thompson, Gary Thompson and Maynard Thompson. Ref: Urslena Thompson – The funeral of Urslena Thompson, 94, Monticello, will be held at 10:30 this morning (Wednesday) at Peace United Church of Christ in Monticello. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery. Rev. Charles H. Eversman will officiate. Mrs. Thompson died Sunday evening, July 8, at Monticello Senior Home, where she had resided two years. She was born Nov. 6, 1884, near Monticello, the daughter of Casper George and Ursula Schmidt Arduser. She received hear early education in the schools of Jones county. She was married Oct. 25, 1905 to James Thompson. The couple farmed in Delaware County near Hopkinton until 1942 when they moved to Monticello. She was a member of Peace United Church of Christ. Surviving are five children, Clarence of Coggon, Gene of Muscatine, Maurice of Monticello, Mrs. Roger (Ruth) Baldwin of Clarence and Calvin of Cedar Rapids; 14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband on Jan. 11, 1961, her parents, three brothers and two sisters. Casket bearers will be Ralph Thompson, Richard Thompson, Brett Baldwin, Gordon Thompson, Gary Thompson and Maynard Thompson.
