RANSOME (sic. Ransom) ELDER Mrs. Velma Jane SEARS ELDER was born January 19, 1886, and departed this life at the St. Joseph's hospital, Ottumwa, Iowa, January 28, 1929, after an illness of two weeks. On January 28, 1903 she was united in marriage to Ransome (sic. Ransom) ELDER. Besides her husband she is survived by two children Charles and Lorraine both at home, and one brother Ira J. SEARS of Pontiac, Mich. Funeral services were held from the Christian church, Thursday afternoon at two oclock in charge of Rev. R.H. Polly. Mrs. Anderson PATTEN and Miss Reva PATTEN sang "Safe in the Arms of Jesus," "Going Down the Valley" and "Beautiful Isle." Interment was made in Evergreen cemetery.
