Description	:	Obituary From The Ottumwa Courier, July 8, 1999: Vera Evelyn Goodwin, 84, formerly of 314 W. Wilson, died at 5:55 p.m. July 6, 1999, at Bettendorf Health Care Center in Bettendorf. She was born on Oct. 10, 1914, in Ottumwa to Zora Albert and Mary Elizabeth Worrell Cohagan. She married Harold R. Goodwin on July 22, 1936. She had lived in Ottumwa all her life before moving to Bettendorf in July of 1997. She was a member of Church of the Brethren in Ottumwa, Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary and American Ex-Prisoners of War Auxiliary. She is survived by her husband; four sons, Dr. Gary Goodwin of Decatur, Texas, Roger L. and Dr. Max Goodwin of Bettendorf and John R. Goodwin of Ottumwa; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Cohagan. The service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Reece Funeral Home in Ottumwa, the Rev. Cynthia Taylor of Church of the Brethren officiating. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Friday with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be grandchildren, Scott, Amy, Chris, Joe, Andrew and Sarah Goodwin and Deanna Goodwin Schupp. A memorial has been established to Church of the Brethren.
