Read More	CONCORDIA--Verna Mae Trost, 82, died Friday, Jan. 2, 2009 at Cloud County Health Center in Concordia. Advertisement Mrs. Trost was born July 28, 1926, at Holyrood, the daughter of Henry Nagel, Sr. and Anna (Reentz) Nagel. She graduated from Holyrood High School. She married Carl R. Trost on Feb. 20, 1946 in Kanorado. He preceded her in death on Oct. 1, 2007. She worked as a homemaker and farm wife in the Huscher area. She was a member of the Huscher United Methodist Church, where she served as the Sunday School Treasurer for several years, along with various other church duties. She was also a member of the United Methodist Women, Good Neighbor's Club and Christian Women's Club. She served as a 4-H leader and Youth Group Sponsor. She and her husband took numerous missionary work trips to Honduras and Arizona. She was also preceded in death by a son, Curtis Andrew Trost; one granddaughter, Andrea Buss; four brothers and two sisters. Survivors include two sons, Eldon Trost and wife Tana of Belleville, Bruce Trost and wife Susan of Concordia; three daughters, Kathy Mitchell and husband Jack of Concordia, Jeannie Buss and husband Rev. Larry of Council Grove, Sandy Boeschling and husband Gailyn of Clay Center; one brother, Henry Nagel, Jr. of Kanorado; two sisters, Helen Rife of Castle Rock, Colo., Dorothy Evans of Littleton, Colo.; two brothers-in-law, Jim Cluff of San Diego, Calif., L.M. "Jack" Maggard of Trophy Club, Tex.; three sisters-in-law, Lois Duewell of Concordia, Imogene Trost of Concordia, Vi Trost of Hesston; fifteen grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Huscher United Methodist Church with Rev. L. Dean Thompson and Rev. Larry Buss officiating. Burial will be in Nelson Center Cemetery in Huscher. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home in Concordia. Family will greet friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Huscher United Methodist Church - World Gospel Mission or Youthville.
