He had been at the St. Anthony hospital for treatment, and on Saturday was brought to the home of his daughter here, the roads being too bad to remove him to his home. Read More	Obituary from The Glidden Graphic: Verne Gilley, of Old Carollton, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Ralph Piper, Tuesday afternoon at 1:30. He had been at the St. Anthony hospital for treatment, and on Saturday was brought to the home of his daughter here, the roads being too bad to remove him to his home. His death was unexpected and of undetermined causes. He has been in poor health for a considerable period of time, although abut his work most of the time. He was 55 years old, having been born March 5, 1877, at Old Carrollton. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. James Gilley, pioneer settlers of that neighborhood, and has always resided in that part of the country. He was married to Edna Beers of Gray, some 35 years ago, and is survived by his widow, four sons, Mryon, Max, Floyd and William, and two daughters, Mrs. Ralph Piper of Glidden and Cleo at home; one brother, Frank Gilley of Omaha; three sisters, Mrs. John Rhodes of Guthrie Center, Mrs. Wm. Gustoff of Jefferson and Mrs. George Dankle of Glidden, and numerous other relatives. Funeral services are held this Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock at Carrollton. Burial in the Carrollton cemetery.
