She was diagnosed with cancer in 1974 and was in remission until May 1995. She was born February 9, 1929, on a farm northwest of St. Benedict, KS, the daughter of Benedict and Eleanor Ronnebaum Roggenkamp. She graduated from St. Benedict High School in 1947. She worked in the City Clerk's office in Seneca. In the early 1950's, she moved to Arlington, VA, where she worked for the U S Navy Department in the Pentagon doing administrative work. She was married to Fred Rogers in January, 1953 in Norfolk, VA. They were later divorced. In May, 1955, she moved with her children to the home farm at St. Benedict. She worked as an accountant at Sander's Ford in Seneca from 1959 to 1965 and for Bergman Ford until 1969. She worked for Winterscheidt Milling Co. from 1969 to 1973. From 1973 to the present, she was employed by the Nemaha County Co-op in their office. She semi-retired in May 1995, but continuted to work despite her health problems. She was talented at sewing like her mother, had made lots of clothes, qualified as a tailor, and had taught other family members to sew. She also enjoyed quilting and crocheting. She was a member of St. Mary's Church, St. Ann's Altar Society, and served on the board of the church at St. Benedict, KS. Survivors are her twins, son, Barrie Rogers, Seneca, KS; daughter, Bonnie Lee, Topeka, KS; brother, Cyrenus "Cy" Roggenkamp, Baileyville; and sister, Marva Sproules, Bonner Springs, KS. She was preceded in death by her parents, mother, Eleanor Roggenkamp, on June 10, 1996; her father, Ben Roggenkamp, in 1981. Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Mary's Catholic Church, St. Benedict, KS. Burial was in the church cemetery. Courier Tribune Seneca, KS July 24, 1996 pg 4
