Description	:	Victor Nielsen was born July 4, 1921, to Viggo and Dorthea Nymann Nielsen and died March 29, 1983, unexpectedly. October 5, 1940, Victor was united in marriage to Lorraine Maakestad in Omaha, Nebraska. To this union four children were born. He lived in Omaha for seven years where he drove a truck for Watson Brothers. Vic and Lorraine moved to Nelson in 1946 where he farmed until his death. Read More	Victor Nielsen was born July 4, 1921, to Viggo and Dorthea Nymann Nielsen and died March 29, 1983, unexpectedly. October 5, 1940, Victor was united in marriage to Lorraine Maakestad in Omaha, Nebraska. To this union four children were born. He lived in Omaha for seven years where he drove a truck for Watson Brothers. Vic and Lorraine moved to Nelson in 1946 where he farmed until his death. Victor devoted his life to his wife, children and grandchildren. Many long, hard hours were spent making sure their needs were met. Always giving of himself and never expecting anything in return, except the love of his family. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Preceding him in death were a son, Ralph, who passed away July 15, 1982, Rockport, Missouri, his parents and five infant brothers and sisters. Survivors include his wife, Lorraine; a daughter, Mrs. Jerry (Betty) Elsasser of Columbus; two sons, Howard of Nelson and Lynn of Hastings; ten grandchildren and four great grandchildren; three brothers, Alvin of Ashland, J.P. of Superior and Denny of Garland; and two sisters, Mrs. Emil (Christa) Jensen of Superior and Mrs. Beryle (Rosa) Ambrose of Nampa, Idaho. Funeral services were held April 1, at 2 p.m., from the United Methodist Church in Nelson, with Rev. Paul Samuelson officiating. Music was provided by Ivan Schafer, organist, playing "Beyond The Sunset". Casketbearers were Ted Madson, Howard Good, R.L. Culbertson, Gerald Whiteley, Gene Holsteen and Ed Sekora. Burial was in the Nelson Cemetery. Klawitter Funeral Home of Nelson was in charge of the arrangements. The Nelson Gazette (Nelson, NE), Thursday, April 7, 1983; pg. 4
