She departed this life on Thursday, December 17, 2001, at the Good Samaritan Center in Superior, Nebraska, at the age of 89 years. June 24, 1931, at Clay Center, Nebraska, Christa married Emil "Sonny" Jensen. This union was blessed with three sons. They lived in Ruskin until 1935 and then farmed in the Hardy area. She also was a housekeeper at Brodstone Memorial Nuckolls County Hospital. Christa and Sonny enjoyed 69 years of marriage before his death on March 8, 2001. She was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Superior. Christa enjoyed gardening, working with flowers and doing crochet and other handiwork. She also was preceded in death by her parents and seven siblings, three infants, three brothers, Alvin, Pete and Vic, and one sister, Rosie. Survivors include three sons, Leslie Jensen and his wife Bonnie of Nelson, Nebraska, Waldean Jensen and his wife Twilla of Waterloo, Iowa, and Donald Jensen and his wife NaDeane of Oak Harbor, Washington; one brother, Denny Nielsen of Pleasantdale, Nebraska; nine grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren. Funeral services were 2 p.m. Monday, December 31, 2001, at Williams Funeral Home Chapel in Superior with Rev. Dan Hays and Pastor Jon Albrecht officiating.
