Description	:	BLANKE, VIOLA EVERNA—Viola Everna Mussman was born January 20, 1887, near Ohiowa, to Henry and Dorothea Dittmer Mussman. She passed away at the Fillmore County hospital at the age of 94 years, eight months and 28 days. As an infant she was baptized in St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran church east of Ohiowa and on March 31, 1901, she was confirmed in the same church. Read More	BLANKE, VIOLA EVERNA—Viola Everna Mussman was born January 20, 1887, near Ohiowa, to Henry and Dorothea Dittmer Mussman. She passed away at the Fillmore County hospital at the age of 94 years, eight months and 28 days. As an infant she was baptized in St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran church east of Ohiowa and on March 31, 1901, she was confirmed in the same church. Her confirmation verse was Psalm 119:105—“Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path,” which she never forgot and quoted many times. She was married to William H. Blanke on February 22, 1906. To this union were born three children. They lived near Ohiowa for several years and in February 1910, moved to Geneva, which has been her home since. There being no Lutheran church in Geneva at that time they became members of the First Congregational church of Geneva on April 23, 1920. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and son, Henry H., four brothers and five sisters. She is survived by two daughters, Dora Cadwallader of Geneva, and Lula at home; two grandsons, Henry Jr. and wife Phyllis of Lincoln; Jack and wife Margaret of Omaha; one granddaughter, Janice Fassnacht and husband Harley P. of Sutton; four great-grandsons, four great-granddaughters, and one great-great-grandson; two brothers, Henry E. and Harry A. Mussman, both of Ohiowa; and a host of many other relatives and friends. She loved her family and always enjoyed the family dinners. She was always making quilts, crocheting, gardening and raising flowers as long as she was able. She will be greatly missed by all. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, October 21, 1981, at Farmer and Son funeral home with the Rev. Charles Schepel officiating. Music was furnished by Curt Prater accompanied by Mrs. Norval Lomax. Hymns were “How Great Thou Art”, “Beyond the Sunset,” and “Going Down the Valley.” Pallbearers were John R. Bixby, George Engle, Richard Hoarty, Derrel Hutchens, Joe Schelkopf and Hugh Wilkins. Interment was in the Geneva cemetery. The Nebraska Signal 29 October 1981 page 4.
