Description	:	Viola Morrow, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Rozzel Morrow, was born at Union, Nebraska on December 22, 1874. She departed this life on March 28, 1932 at Omaha. She had reached the age of 57 years 8 months and 6 days. She grew to womanhood in the vicinity of her birthplace. In 1894, she moved with her parents to Riverside. To this union was born one... Read More	Viola Morrow, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Rozzel Morrow, was born at Union, Nebraska on December 22, 1874. She departed this life on March 28, 1932 at Omaha. She had reached the age of 57 years 8 months and 6 days. She grew to womanhood in the vicinity of her birthplace. In 1894, she moved with her parents to Riverside. She made her home in this community until moving with her own family to Silver Creek community in 1911. Viola Morrow was united in marriage to George LeRoy Grothe on March 1, 1899. To this union was born one daughter Edith, two sons Lloyd and LeRoy. Edith preceded her mother in death November 18, 1920. At an early age she united with the Methodist church. Later when moving to Riverside she united with the Riverside Baptist church. After making her home in the Silver Creek community, she transferred her church membership to the Silver Creek Baptist church, March 25, 1914. The memory that she leaves is one of the sweetest, as a Christian, serving her Lord with her best. Her sympathetic and lovable nature was far reaching in its influence—not only to her loved ones but to each one who knew her. Loyalty, justice, being a wonderful mother and wife, and a student of religious things, were among the outstanding characteristics in her life. She was loyal to her church, thoroughly devoted to high ideals. Her many friends found in her trusts and confidence as scared as if they had been regarded with a thousand articles or conditions. She loved justice, liberally endowed with that which we call common sense, carefully weighing both sides of the case before coming to a decision, anxious that a square deal be given to all. She was the queen who sat upon the throne of the home, crowned and sceptered as none other can ever be—mother. Her children rise up and call her blessed. She ruled her subjects with marvelous patience, winning tenderness and undying love. She had a power, silent, pervading, magnetic which was unconsciously exerted in her thoughts, swords and actions. Mrs. Grothe was an active church worker.. She loved her church. Last Friday evening her message of love was conveyed to the church , carried by a friend from her bedside that day, but little was it realized that her Saviour would be calling for her membership so soon. Her failing health the last two years did not permit her to take an active part in all the departments of church work yet her interest was ever the same as in the past. She was missionary minded, a student of religious things, keeping to the fore in the world of religious thought. She was the honored president of the Silver Creek Womans Missionary Society for a number of years, an office which she held until her death. The last few weeks of her life, she was seriously ill and two weeks age she was taken to an Omaha hospital and it was there that her Master summoned her and like the Christian soldier that she was, she steeped out of this earthly tabernacle into that heaven mansion her Lord had waiting for her. Kind and loving hands ministered to her. Her loved ones were at her bedside almost constantly during the last days. No effort was spared to make her comfortable and as happy as possible, but she was called and she was obedient. She leaves to mourn her departure her devoted husband and two sons, Lloyd and LeRoy, one little granddaughter Beth Ileane, also one brother Dr. Lawrence Morrow, three sisters, Anna, Lillian and Hazel, all of Tekamah, and a host of relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rozzel and Adella Morrow, three brothers, Wren, Edmon and Roy and one sister, Hallie. The funeral service was held at the home Thursday afternoon, March 31, at 2:30 o'clock, Rev. Roy H. Larsen in charge. Rev. W. E. Overturf of Mead, a former pastor preached the sermon. Mr. Ed Whale and Mrs. Brewer furnished appropriate music. Many friends came to pay their respects and express their sympathy. The floral offerings were many and beautiful Interment was made in the Tekamah cemetery.
