Description	:	Obit of Edith Grothe Edith M. Grothe, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Grothe, was born at Riverside, November 10, 1899, and passed away on the evening of November 18, 1920, at the age of 21 years and 8 days. At the age of eleven she was converted and united with the Riverside Baptist church, her membership being there until parents moved to Silver Creek where she transferred her membership, and has been a faithful worker in all the departments of the church until her health failed and it was impossible to longer continue in her active work. Grothe, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Grothe, was born at Riverside, November 10, 1899, and passed away on the evening of November 18, 1920, at the age of 21 years and 8 days. At the age of eleven she was converted and united with the Riverside Baptist church, her membership being there until parents moved to Silver Creek where she transferred her membership, and has been a faithful worker in all the departments of the church until her health failed and it was impossible to longer continue in her active work. During her sickness she often expressed her confidence in her personal Savior and always said not her will but His be done. She leaves to mourn her early departure, father, mother and two brothers, Lloyd and LeRoy, and a host of relatives and friends. Heaven is richer and from her heart there is a silver cord which reaches from earth again. Upon this silver cord Angels Chant their eternal anthems calling us one and all. Funeral services were held at the Silver Creek church November 21st, conducted by her pastor. Interment in Tekamah cemetery. A Tribute to Edith M. Grothe Words fail when one tries to express what so pure and unselfish a Christian life has meant to a community when the Master says "come up higher." Her life has told the true story of real happiness to be derived from one of service for her Master. As president of the W.W.G. chapter or young ladies Missionary society, Sunday School organist and teacher of a class in Sunday School of 20 boys and girls from 8 to 12 years of age, she never failed to fill her place. When at times she was physically unable but never complaining and her smile brought cheer to all whom she met. We ask who can fill her place? No one can do that, yet others may keep in memory her "Life for others" and be able to "carry on" the work she cared more for than any thing else. It is with deepest sympathy we as a Sunday School join those who feel her loss most in paying this small tribute to Edith's life.
