Jacobs died August 26, 1895 at their house in Nodaway, Adams County, Iowa, after a long and painful illness through a number of years. Mrs. Jacobs by birth, was a native of Iowa and a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Jefferson (Mary Ann Descombes) Thompson. She and Mr. Jacobs were married January 5, 1882 in Montgomery County, Iowa, and have lived in Iowa ever since, locating in Nodaway some two years ago. She was born March 17, 1860 and was a consistent and faithful member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church, associated with that body of the Christian faith in 1890. During the latter days of her illness, acute brights disease set in and her suffering became intensified, but she bore it all with held Christian patience and closed her earthly existence in the bright hope of the promised rest beyond. Funeral services were held at the house Tuesday, August 17, Rev. Rowley of Brooks officiated. Deceased was laid to rest in the Villisca Cemetery.
