On October 7, 1995, she married Harold Earnest Niehaus in Grace United Methodist Church. Harold passed away on January 6, 2002. She graduated from Burlington High School in 1946. Born February 16, 1929, in Burlington, she was the daughter of John Arthur and Plommie Elmira Jackson Anderson. On May 30, 1948, she married Richard Charles Distelhorst in Messiah Lutheran Church. On October 7, 1995, she married Harold Earnest Niehaus in Grace United Methodist Church. Harold passed away on January 6, 2002. She graduated from Burlington High School in 1946. Violet was a secretary at Schramms Company for 15 years, Dr. Guiang and Dr. Paragas for 7 years and at Hirsch Law Office for 20 years. She also worked at Mississippi Valley Savings and Loan for 3 years. Violet did not like being retired, so she got a job with Autumn Heights Congregate Meal Program. Violet loved spending time with her family, siblings, friends and church group. She was in the "Home Builders" Sunday School class and sang in the church choir. Violet enjoyed playing cards, singing, dancing, socializing and going to garage sales; she was a great bargain hunter. She never knew a stranger, and made friends with anyone. She was young at heart, fun loving and generous. Besides both of her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Dennis Charles Distelhorst, two brothers, Clarence Anderson and Leonard Anderson, one sister, Irma Kuntz, and one son-in-law, Warren Spurgeon.
