Virginia Chrystal Davis, age 81 an Iowa native and long time resident of Omaha passed away Sunday afternoon at Methodist Hospital with complications of pneumonia and other respiratory disease. Virginia had attended Iowa State University at Ames, served four years, four months and four days as a Navy WAVE and after honorable discharge was a reservist for several years; finishing her degree, a B.S. in economics from college of the Pacific in Stockton, CA. She was a leading California social services represent in the upper San Joaquin Valley. She married William R. Davis of Salt Lake City in 1954. In addition to becoming the mother of premature twins in Utah, she also served as the secretary of a hospital board in the throes of reorganization and construction of a new hospital; her service was vital. When the family moved to Omaha in 1966, Virginia became involved with the District 66 schools, the Omaha Junior Theatre, the foreign student directory for Omaha University before it was U.N.O. She was a tireless volunteer for many years for the Childrens Theatre and the Tuesday Musical Concert Series. She is survived by her husband William, daughter Dorothy (Jim) Morrow of Omaha; Julie (Mike) Sacks of Minneapolis, five grandchildren, brother Tom Chrystal of Scranton and many nieces and nephews.
