For the past couple of years Mrs, Chrystal had been taking treatment for this trouble and was in various hospitals at different times. About three weeks ago she spent some time at a Carroll hospital, returned to her home for a week and entered the Des Moines hospital last Friday. Mrs. Chrystal was what might be termed a human person, she liked people and took an interest in the world in which she lived. The wide acquaintance and the many friends she had made by this attitude toward life was attested by the host of people who attended the funeral services Wednesday and by the tremendous quantity of flowers. She took a great interest in club work and was a member of the Rural Industrial club, the Rural Garden club, the Woman's- club and the Pioneer bridge club. She often attended district and state Federated club meetings. She took an active interest in all community affairs. Edward Garst was a pioneer Coon Rapids merchant, locating here in 1869. Dorothy, the only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Garst; was born at Rockford, Ill.; July 30; 1895. She attended the Coon Rapids schools and later went to Rockford (Ill.,) Seminary and to Grinnell college, graduating from the latter school in 1915. She taught school for some months at Alta and then returned to Coon Rapids and kept house for her brothers, Roswell and Jonathan on the farm south of town for a couple of years. In 1919 she married I. G. Chrystal. They lived in Coon Rapids for a couple of years, spent a couple of years in Oklahoma and a short time in Arizona and then moved to Mrs. Chrystal's farm a couple of miles north of town where they have since made their home. She is survived by her husband. Senator Chrystal, and their three children, Thomas, John and Virginia, all of Coon Rapids; three brothers, Roswell Garst of Coon Rapids, Jonathan Garst of Berkley, Calif., and Goodwin Garst. Funeral services were held at tho Coder funeral home Wednesday afternoon, being conducted by Rev. Z. E. Hoverholtzer, pastor of tho Presbyterian church at Glidden. Mrs. C. W. Rippey sang three hymns: "Face to Face," "Perfect Day" and "Lead Kindly Light," she was accompanied at the organ by Mrs. J. T. Rogers. Pall bearers were Verne Whitnell, John Miller, Frank Moylan, George Bower, Clarence Kennedy and Leo Watrous. Burial was in the local cemetery
