Description	:	Mrs. Virginia Shoemaker Hudson Bowman, 84, of Dobson, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 29, 2009, at Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home. She was born in Wilkes County on Jan. 15, 1925, to the late Robert McKinley and Addie Mastin Shoemaker. Mrs. Bowman was retired from Elkin Valley Apparel and a faithful member of Copeland Baptist Church. She was born in Wilkes County on Jan. 15, 1925, to the late Robert McKinley and Addie Mastin Shoemaker. Mrs. Bowman was retired from Elkin Valley Apparel and a faithful member of Copeland Baptist Church. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Dr. Charles Fotenot of Crowley, La.; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Ronald Eugene and Sandra Hudson and Robert Lee Hudson, all of Dobson; two grandchildren, Scott Hudson and Sherri Hudson; a sister and brother-in-law, Agnes and Clay Alexander; and two brothers and sisters-in-law, Bobby and Vecie Shoemaker and Bruce and Ruth Shoemaker, all of Roaring River. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bowman was preceded in death by her husbands, Garlie Lee Hudson and Kirby Bowman; and a brother, Edward Shoemaker. Her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 31, 2009, at Copeland Baptist Church by the Rev. Joey Jessup. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday at Moody-Davis Funeral Home. The family would like to extend its heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home for their compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Joan and Howard Woltz Home, 945 Zephyr Road, Dobson, NC 27017.
