Read More	Wenatchee World - Jan 7, 2009 Walter "Walt" Carl Irmer was born at home to William and Pauline Irmer September 14, 1916. He passed away January 1, 2009, at Central Washington Hospital in Wenatchee. Walt lived his entire life in the home he was born in. He was the youngest of six children and the last member of his family. On January 19, 1944, he married the love of his life, Edith Pearl Walmer, in Spokane, WA. January 19, 2009, would have been their 65th wedding anniversary. Walt was a lifelong wheat and cattle rancher. Even though he retired many years ago, he was still a farmer and cattleman at heart. He helped around the ranch in whatever way that he could; driving tractor, checking on the cattle, pumping water, moving from field to field, or just giving advice. Walt always enjoyed spending time in the outdoors. In his younger years, he liked to hunt and fish. Anyone who knew him well, knew he had a soft spot in his heart for small children. Walt had an excellent eye for a good horse and he was a good judge of beef cattle as well. He never met a dog that didn't like him.Walt was preceded in death by his parents, William and Pauline Irmer; his brothers, Richard, Arthur and Fredrick Irmer; and his sisters, Ida Warner and Bertha Brender. Walt is survived by his wife, Edith of Waterville; his sons and their spouses, Neil (Becky) of Waterville, Wayne (Barbara) of Spokane, Russell (Brenda) of Waterville and Leo (Catherine) of Waterville; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.Viewing will be held at Telford's Chapel of the Valley from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Thursday, January 8, 2009. A Funeral Service will be held at the Waterville Lutheran Church on Friday, January 9, 2009, at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Waterville Ambulance fund. Arrangements are under the direction of Telford's Chapel of the Valley, East Wenatchee.
