Johnson, 75, of Ottumwa Route 7, was dead on arrival at Ottumwa Hospital Sunday at 10:45 a.m. following a heart attack suffered at his home. A retired farmer, he was the son of John and Sarah Sellers Johnson, born at Laddsdale on Feb. 14, 1895. He was a lifetime resident of Wapello County, and a member of Westminister Presbyterian Church. A retired farmer, he was the son of John and Sarah Sellers Johnson, born at Laddsdale on Feb. 14, 1895. He was a lifetime resident of Wapello County, and a member of Westminister Presbyterian Church. He married Catherine Thorne on July 1, 1917, in Ottumwa. She survives, as do two sons, Lester F. Johnson of Ottumwa, and Harvey J. Johnson of Houston, Tex.; two daughters, Mrs. Lola Timmins and Mrs. Doris Anderson, both of Ottumwa; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. Other survivors include two brothers, James Johnson of Blakesburg, and Ernest Johnson of Monroe; and two sisters, Mrs. Anna Harris of Ottumwa, and Mrs. Lillie Cook of Agency. One son, Charles; one daughter, Livina [sic]; and three brothers and two sisters preceded him in death. Services will be Tuesday at 3 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Chapel with the Rev. William P. Findlay of Westminster Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jack Hampton, Bud Morgan, Al Martin, Dale Snyder, Ed Cooper and Rex Moore. The casket will be closed at the beginning of the service.
