Muller on Tuesday, Feb. 27 brought sorrow to all who knew him, and his loss will be deeply felt, in his home, church and community. He failed to regain his health after surgery performed last November and was cared for in his home until the day before his death when he was taken to the Memorial Hospital in Marengo, passing away at 6:00 a.m. He was born on a farm near Victor, Iowa, March 26, 1893 to Henry and Adelaide Blanken Muller. He was baptized at the age of fourteen years upon the profession of his faith in Christ and united with the Baptist church, remaining a faithful member to the time of his death. He attended rural grade school, was a graduate of Victor High School and lived his entire life in the Victor community. He operated the family home farm for a number of years before he joined his brother Harry in the operation of the International Implement business in Victor for a period of 25 years. After selling this business he retired, except for managing his farm which was located near Deep River. He attained the age of 68 years and 11 months. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and two sisters. He is survived by one brother, Louis Muller, and two sisters, Martha Muller and Mrs. Adelaide Folkerts, all of Victor, besides many other relatives and friends by whom he will be greatly missed. Funeral services were held from the McAninch chapel Friday, March 2, 1962, with the Rev. Fred Schmidt of the Victor Baptist church officiating. Two songs, "Wonderful Peace" and "In the Cross of Christ" were sung by Mrs. Fred Schmidt , with Mrs. G. W. Rieke as organist. Flowers were cared for by Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Eggert and Mrs. Ed Bushnell. Casket bearers were Harland Muller, Ted Bohstedt, Russell Fetzer, Guy Hutton, Rudy Meyer and Frank Michalek, with burial in the Victor I.O.O.F. cemetery. ------------------------------------------------- Source: Victor Iowa Quasquicentennial 1868 -1993 Book Walter Muller was born near Victor March 26, 1893 to Henry and Adelaide Blanken Muller. He graduated from Victor High School and operated the family farm for a number of years before joining his brother, Harry, in the operation of the International Implement business for 25 years just north of the railroad tracks on Washington Street in Victor. After selling this business he retired, except for managing his farm which was located near Deep River. He made a home for his mother and his sister, Martha (Mattie) in Victor. He was a faithful member of the Victor Baptist Church until his death on February 27, 1962.
