| Description | : | Walter Henry Wirkler graduated from ISU in Electrical Engineering in 1932 and went to work for Collins Radio in 1934. He was one of the first engineers hired by the company and for the next 20 years, except for 1936-38 when he did graduate work at Ohio State University, Wirkler was the first engineer Art Collins looked to when he needed help defining a technical problem in mathematical terms or the laws of physics.
