Born June 1939 a daughter of the late James Hiram and Lovonia Davis Holt. She was a life time member of New Hope Baptist Church of Buffalo. Read More	Mrs. Wanda Laverne Holt, 70, of 134 Buffalo St. Buffalo SC died Tuesday January 12th 2010 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center after a brief illness. Born June 1939 a daughter of the late James Hiram and Lovonia Davis Holt. She was a life time member of New Hope Baptist Church of Buffalo. Survivors include one daughter Melanie Lawson and husband Rodney of Union, , one grandson Rockey Lancaster and his wife Kelly of Union, one step grandchild Suzy Garner and husband Mike , two great grandchildren Rylan and Addison Lancaster, one step great grandchild Hayden Garner one brother Billy Ray Holt and wife Pearlee of Buffalo, one sister Yvonne Gregory of Union, a sister-in-law Clara Holt, a special cousin Jeannine Elliott, and a number of nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister Paunese Mitchell, two brothers Bobby and J.W. Holt, and a brother-in-law Bob Gregory. Funeral services will be held Friday January 15th, 2010 at 3:00pm at New Hope Baptist Church of Buffalo with Pastor Johnny Burgess and Dr. Tim Driggers officiating. Interment will follow at Rosemont Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday January 14th, 2010 at the Lewis Funeral Home from 6-8pm. Pallbearers include Josh Driggers, Andy Eller, Roy Turner, Jackie Phipps, Bob Smith, Mikey Boulware, Vic Elliott, and David Wilson. The following will form the honorary escort; Susan Pegram, Cathy Parks, Peggy Goins, Evelyn Brown, Bill and Sarah Hopkins, Judy Driggers, Tiffany Eller, Ashley Eller, Hassie Vaughan, and New Hope Baptist Church Senior Adult Sunday School Class. Honorary and active pallbearers are asked to assemble at the church at 2:30 Friday. The family request Memorials be made to New Hope Baptist Church 308 Linersville Rd. Buffalo SC 29321. The family is at the home of her daughter and son-in-law Melanie and Rodney Lawson, 403 Springdale Dr. Union SC 29379 The Lewis Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements
