She departed this life on Friday, December 23, 2016 in Omaha, Nebraska at the age of 89 years. Wanda was born in rural Guide Rock, NE on April 20, 1927 to Ira and Rose (White) Thayer. She was the second of nine children. She graduated from Nelson High School in the class of 1944. Wanda was married to John W. Adams on February 23, 1947; they were married sixty-nine years and ten months. Wanda spent her early years raising her family. In later years, she worked at Blue Cross Serum Co. and later at Mid-Nebraska Mental Health Center. Her life passion, besides her family, was piecing and quilting quilts. Wanda is survived by her husband John Adams of Omaha, NE; daughters Kay (Max) Adams of Omaha, NE, Becky (Dave) South of Omaha, NE;, and Tami Kowalki of Lincoln NE; daughter-in-law, Carol Adams of Lincoln, NE, eight grandchildren, and fourteen great-grandchildren. Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, eight siblings, son, Kenny, and son-in-law, Krage Kowalki. Funeral service will be held this Wednesday 11:00 AM, December 28, 2016 at the United Methodist Church in Superior, Nebraska . Pastor Dorothy Smith will be officiating.
