Read More	Waneta Watts, the daughter of James and Katherine (sic) (Green) Woodhead, was born October 17, 1925 on a farm in Clay County, Nebraska near Edgar. She departed this life on Thursday, February 27, 2003 at the Rosebrook Care Center in Edgar, NE at the age of 77 years. Waneta attended schools in Edgar, NE and graduated from Edgar High School with the class of 1944. On March 30, 1946 Waneta was united in marriage to Gordon T. Watts at Mankato, KS. This union was blessed with the birth of one son, Charles. Waneta and Gordon made farming their life's work, Waneta worked with Gordon on the farm as well as being a wife, mtoher and homemaker. She enjoyed gardening, flowers and working in her yard. Waneta was a member of the VFW Auxiliary in Fairfield. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gordon on March 28, 2002; two brothers, Dale and Earl; and a sister, Vera McLaughlin. Waneta is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Ann Watts of Edgar, NE; sisters, Florence Fitchner of Billings, MT and Merna Jordon of Ft. Collins, CO; 4 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. Funeral services were held on Monday, March 3rd at 10:30 a.m. at the Williams Funeral Home Chapel in Edgar, with the Rev. Dr. Ralph Sturdy officiating. Burial was in the Edgar Cemetery.
