Description	:	MILTONVALE-- Warren E. Coupal, 93, died Friday, Sept. 14, 2012, at Medicalodge, Clay Center. Mr. Coupal was born June 23, 1919, in Clay County, the son of Willie and Thelma (Nichols) Coupal. He grew up in the Bloom Township, attended the Pleasant View School and graduated from Clay Center Community High School. He married Betty Carver on May 16, 1945. Mr. Coupal was born June 23, 1919, in Clay County, the son of Willie and Thelma (Nichols) Coupal. He grew up in the Bloom Township, attended the Pleasant View School and graduated from Clay Center Community High School. He married Betty Carver on May 16, 1945. He began farming with his grandfather, Felix Coupal, at the age of 10 and remained farming into his 80's. Along with his agricultural farming he raised Aberdeen Angus cattle. His farmstead was named a Century Farm in 1991. He was preceded in death by two brothers. Survivors include his wife, Betty Coupal of Miltonvale; one son, Doug Coupal and wife Michelle of Clay Center; two sisters, Shirley Coupal of Roeland Park and Jean Coupal-Smith of Roeland Park; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. A graveside funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 18, at the Lincoln Cemetery, Clay County, with the Rev. Larry Brock officiating. Burial will be in Lincoln Cemetery, Clay County. Visitation will be held from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday (today) at Neill-Schwensen-Rook Funeral Home.
