Pech Warren E. Pech, 81, of Roberts Park near Keosauqua, died Tuesday, Nov. 9, 1999, at Union Hospital in Terre Haute, Ind. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Raymond Funeral Home. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetry. Friends may call from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday with family present from 7-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials have been established to Disabled American Veterans. Mr. Pecch was born April 23, 1918, in Batavia, the son of Fred and Mary Theresa Bode Pech. He married Ruth Gilbert Nov. 11, 1941, in Bremerton, Wash. She died July 3, 1991. Mr. Pech lived most of his life in the Fairfield community and his later years at Roberts Park. He worked as a machinist at Rockwell, was promoted to supervisor and later to plant engineer. He owned and operated Pech Welding from 1945 to 1960. He owned and operated Mr. Softee ice cream trucks in Fairfield and Ottumwa for several years. He and his wife owned and opereated the Hideout Loung and Trading Post Grocery north of Fairfield before their retirement. Mr. Pech was a U.S. Army veteran serving during World War II as a tank gunner with the 782nd Tank Battalion. Survivors include two sons, Garry Pech of Minneapolis and Steve Pech of Fort Madison; one daughter, Christie Milligan of Brazil, Ind.; two brothers, David Pech of Fairfield and Louis Pech of California; one sister, Dorothy Short of Ottumwa; and three grandsons. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by one son, Larry Pech; and six brothers and sisters.
