Chaney a life long resident of Pend Oreille County died at his Newport Home Saturday August 24th . He went to school in Newport and served in the Army in 1942. He worked in the logging industry prior to his 25 years of employment with the Pend Oreielle County Road dept. and his subsequent retirement in 1976. He worked for the P.U.D. after that. He was a volunteer for the Pend Oreille County Historical Socieity at the Museum for the last 12 years and was serving most recently as V.P. He was a member of the Improved Oreder of Redman-Degree of Pocahontas for many years and a member of the United Church of Christ.
