Wayne Schley was born May 22, 1926 on the farm he grew up on near Stratford, SD. He attended country school through eighth grade and graduated from Stratford High School. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Stratford. Wayne began farming with his brother and father and remained in Stratford until retiring. He moved to Mesa, AZ, and remained there for seventeen years. In 2007 Wayne moved back to Aberdeen. Wayne was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. He enjoyed hunting and ballroom dancing. Wayne sang in a male quartet called the Four Flats at Stratford. Grateful for having shared Wayne’s life are: his sister Arlene (Wes) Elliott, Aberdeen, SD; nephews Jerry (Susan) Brick, Aberdeen, SD and Joel (Linda) Brick, Madison, SD; nieces Dorothy Mattingly, Grapevine, TX and Judy Peterson, New Brighton, MN; great-niece Carolyn (Randy) Smith, Memphis, TN. Preceding Wayne in death are parents Armund & Alvina Schley; brother Marvin Schley; sisters Elvera Peterson-Lane and Evelyn Brick. - Spitzer-Miller Funeral Home
