Injuries received when he was kicked by a horse proved fatal Friday night to Wayne Harvey Diggs, 11, son of Mr. and Mrs. W.H. Diggs, who live four miles west of Emporia. Wayne Harvey Diggs was born January 18, 1922, at the farm west of Emporia. He is survived by his parents; two sisters, Mary Jane and Loretta Mae Diggs, and one brother, Willie Leon Diggs, all of the home. Funeral services will be held at 3:30 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the Sutton Funeral home. Rev. Claude G. Large, pastor of the First Christian church will conduct the services. Funeral services for Wayne Harvey Diggs, 11, who died Friday night in Newman Memorial County hospital as a result of injuries received earlier in the day when he was kicked by a horse, were held 3:30 o'clock Sunday afternoon at Sutton Funeral home. Rev. Claude G. Large, pastor of the First Christian church, conducted the services. a quartet composed of Lewis Macey, Everett Moon, Miss Ida Macey and Mrs. Clarence Barker sang, accompanied by Mrs. Merle Moon. Interment was in Memorial Lawn cemetery. Pallbearers were Willard Colwell. Loy Clawson, Clarence Pendergraft, Charles Knapp, E.A. O'Brien and Ralph Moon. Wayne Harvey Diggs completed his sixth grade work this spring at the Lakeside school He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Diggs who live four miles west of Emporia. Out-of-town persons who attended he funeral were Mr. and Mrs. G.W. Bennett and Mr. and Mrs. W.W. Bennett and children, Newton; Mr.and Mrs. R.G. Bennett, Wichita; Mr. and Mrs. E. Bigerstaff and Mr. and Mrs. W. Bigerstaff, of Halstead.
