The funeral services were conducted by Rev. A. J. Meierhoff pastor of the Presbyterian church and attended by neighbors and friends of the deceased in large numbers. Wilhelmina Thode, better known as Minnie, was born on November 18, 1878 at Greenwood, Nebraska and passed to her eternal reward on July 5th, 1928 at the old homestead on the Thode farm northwest of town. If the deceased had lived to next November 18, she would have reached the half century mark. At the age of four years she came with her parents to Sherman County and on December 29, 1896 she was united in marriage to Mr. Peter Thode. To this union three children were born, one dying in infancy. The two remaining are grown sons, John and Ernest who besides a loving husband will mourn the death of a loving mother. Deceased also leaves two sisters to mourn her death, Mrs. Dave Johns of Comstock and Mrs. Albert Fiebig of Loup City. The departed one has earned a crown and is entitled to a reward from our heavenly father. After years of suffering she lays down her life, leaving behind her nothing but sweet memories of a devoted wife and mother and her beautiful life will spur them on to higher and nobler things.
