Mrs. Bauer was born in Hamilton, February 11, 1870, the daughter of John and Anna Euler Herold. She had lived her entire life in Hamilton and on January 15, 1895, she was married to Edward Bauer. He died August 28, 1931. A faithful member of Zion Lutheran church, she was confirmed January 16, 1883. She was a devoted mother and spent much of her early life caring for her children and working in her church. She was a member of the Ladies society, the Esther circle and the Red Cross sewing group of the church, the Fort Hamilton hospital stamp guild and for many years was a member of the quilters group of the Zion Lutheran church. She was noted for her excellent handwork. Mrs. Bauer leaves four sons, Herold, Stanley W., Russell A. Bauer, all of Hamilton, Edward Bauer, Mt. Healthy; eight grandchildren; one great grandchild; a brother, Adam Herold, Hamilton; other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon, 2 o'clock, at the Elmer A. Proeschel funeral home, 547 Main street. Rev. Karl Mueller, pastor of the Zion Lutheran church, will officiate. Burial will be in Greenwood. Visitation in the funeral home will be Tuesday afternoon and evening after 4 o'clock."
