Internment was made in St. John's Rock Creek Lutheran cemetery. Rev F. Ide conducted the service. Internment was made in St. John's Rock Creek Lutheran cemetery. Rev F. Ide conducted the service. Wilhelmine Amalia Tesch, nee Bartz, was born the daughter of Bernhard (Bernard) Bartz and Frederika (Winrich) Bartz on November 15, 1873 in Newburg township, Mitchell county. She was baptized on December 7th of the same year. She was confirmed in the Lutheran faith in 1887 by Pastor Zeilinger. On September 5, 1895, she was united in marriage to August Tesch at the Immanuel Lutheran church in St. Ansgar. After their marriage, the young couple settled on a farm in Rock township. Four sons were born to this union, the oldest of whom, Eitel, died in infancy. On March 12, 1921, her husband died, and she managed her affairs and looked after her family alone. Apart from an operation in her early years, she enjoyed good health. About four years ago she began being bothered with what appeared to be a minor irritation on her foot. Subsequent developments showed it be a cancerous condition which necessitated the amputation of her foot a year ago last February. She sought medical aid at the Mayo Clinic, but her condition seemed beyond medical help, and after weeks of suffering, she passed early Sunday morning, October 11. She is survived by her three sons, Fred of Lyle, Minnesota; Alfred and Herman of Mitchell; one sister, Mrs. Anna Laabs of Wausau, Wisc.; two grandchildren, Daryl and Marilyn Tesch of Mitchell; five nieces and two nephews, as well as other relatives and a host of friends. She was 68 years, 10 months and 27 days old at the time of her death.
