STARK DEAD. The community was greatly shocked and grieved to know that Wm. A. Stark had died at his home in Canton, dissolution taking place Saturday forenoon, Feb. 6. He had been sick several days with measles, but no one outside of the family had anyt idea that his malady would prove fatal. But so it was, and the many friends of this estimable citizen will long deplore his sudden and untimely taking away. William S. Stark was born at Mayfield, ill., on the 18th day of August, 1858, and lived in that town until 1884, when he decided to come west, and moved to South Dakota, buying a farm near Beresford, in Pleasant township, Lincoln county. And here he resided with his family until about five years ago when he camt to Canton, and has been a resident of this city up to the time of his death. Mr. Stark was married to Miss Ella Parker, June 13th, 1886, and to this union three children were born, two of whom survive their father’s death. They are Floyd, aged nine, and Laura, aged seven. Mr. Stark early in life became a meber of the Methodist church and has for years been an earnest worker in his Master’s vineyard. He was a member of the Canton church of that denomiation at the time of his demise. All that was mortal of this good citizen was laid at reat Monday afternoon in Forest Hill cemetery, Revs. Swickard and Shepherd officiating. The LEADER joins with many friends of teh family in extending sincere sympathy at this sad time. May He who doeth all things well, bring comfort and peace to those who are bowed with grief at the loss of a loving husband and father.
