"Harveyville Monitor" Dec. 18, 1941 ------ William Alexander Yeakly William Alexander Yeakly, son of Elijah and Mary Ann Yeakly was born May 1, 1855 in Randolph County, Winchester, Indiana. He came to Americus, Kansas with his parents in 1856 but returned to Indiana in 1861 where he lived until 1868 when he again moved to Americus, Kansas. He was united in marriage to Ida May Lamb, May 10, 1881 at Americus, Kansas. To this union were born five children, three sons having died in infancy. He is survivied by his wife, on son, Allen Yeakly of Admire, Kansas and a daughter, Lora Yeakly, of the home; also a sister, Mrs. Anna Engell of Washington, D.C. and several nieces and nephews. He was reared in a Quaker home and these principles were apparent all through his life, in both his home and his dealings with his neighbors. He lay in state at the Betty Funeral Home until one o'clock sunday when he was taken to the Methodist church at Admire whre services were conducted by Rev. McGee of Miller at two thirty. Interment was in a cemetery near Americus beside his parents and other relatives. "Northern Lyon Co. Journal" Dec. 24, 1941 Hold Funeral services for Wm.
