Due to the lack of obituary legibility it wasn't known if they had children. Information received on February 13, 2017 states that "Della and Will had two children, Harold Ralph Bender (1914-1978, not on findagrave)and Edith Mae (Bender) Vorhies (memorial #7960100)." Also, "According to their marriage certificate recorded in Henry County, Iowa in Book 6, Page 31, Will was born in Lyon County, Kansas; he was a farmer at the time. They were married December 31, 1912 at the bride's home in Wayland, Henry County, Iowa." --------------- Marriage update - This is the same William Bender who married Bertha Archedelphia Nelson Stortz/Bender on October 14, 1948 in Jefferson county, Iowa (marriage book W-147, # 14523). They are linked by spouse relationship links. William was listed as being aged 66, and Bertha aged 58, which corresponds closely to their respective birth years. It should be noted, however, that William's death record listed him as a "widower" when he died in 1955, so it is possible, if not probable, that he and Bertha were separated or divorced prior to his death. When and where any divorce action took place is not known to this contributor at this time.
