After an extended pilgrimage of a little over 81 years, William Beavans, who began his earthly existence near Galesburg, Illinois, September 15, 1850, passed to his eternal reward October 8, 1831. In young manhood Mr. Bevans came to Clarke county, Iowa, and has made Osceola and vicinity his home ever since. He was married to Miss Cornelia Anne Monroe soon after coming to Iowa. Four children were born of this union. The youngest of the four died at the age of two years. The three living children are Mrs. A. R. Turn, Louisa and Carrie Beavans, all of Osceola, Iowa. Mr. Beavans is also survived by a brother, George Bevans, who lives in Colorado (ed.-missing line) Marjorie Turk, two granddaughters who were idolized by their indulgent grandfather. Mr. Beavans was a man who earned his bread honestly by the sweat of his brow. He loved his children with a sincere and passionate desire that they might be numbered with those who are good and do good. He was a well wisher to all of the fellowmen. While not a member of any church he loved the House of God and numbered himself with those who regularly entered the courts of our God, with praise. His earthly pilgrimage is finished. The body will be placed by the side of his beloved wife who preceded him to know the realities of the eternal life by several years. Not because William Beavans was a great man (for he never made and claim to greatness) but because he was a good man he will be missed and ourned by those who knew him. Cards of Thanks.
