Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Mary Margaret Jeffers, Osceola, and Mrs. Marjorie Hootman of Bakersfield, Calif; two sons-in-law, John Jeffers and Robert Hootman; two grandsons, Larry and Jerry Hootman: one sister, Miss Louise Bevans, Osceola, three step-daughters, Mrs. Lafe Gibson of Humeston, Mrs. E. R. Zike of Derby and Mrs. W.E. Short, Des Moines, and two step-sons, Cletha Turk of Seattle, Wash., and Ruben Turk of Morning Sun. Osceola Sentinel, Osceola, IA, Thursday, May 2nd, 1963, p. 1 Rites Wednesday For Mrs. Turk Funeral services were held in Osceola Wednesday afternoon for Mrs. Mary Matilda Turk, 82-year-old life-time resident of Clarke county, who died early Monday at the Clarke county hospital. Rev. Clinton D. Wolf, pastor of the Osceola Christian church, officiated at the services in the Webster Funeral Home. Burial was in the Maple Hill cemetery. The daughter of William and Cornelia Monroe Bevans, she was born July 12, 1880, in Clarke county. She was educated in the county schools. On Aug 30, 1916, she was united in marriage with Alfred Henry Turk at Dos Moines and they were the parents of two children Mr. Turk preceded her in death in 1936. Mrs. Turk was a member of the Osceola Christian church. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Robert Hootman of Bakersfield, Calif, and Mrs. John Jeffers of Osceola; two grandsons, Larry and Jerry Hootman; one sister, Miss Louise Bevans of Osceola; three step-daughters, Mrs. Lafe Gibson of Humeston, Mrs. E. R. Zike' of Derby, and Mrs. W. E. Short of Des Moines; two step-sons, Cletha Turk of Seattle, Wash., and Ruben Turk of Morning Sun. She was preceded in death by her husband; one granddaughter, Cathy Jeffers; two sisters, Carrie and Ann Elizabeth, and one stepson, Claude Turk.
