Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Raymond Funeral Home with the Rev. Clair Odell officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Friends may call at their convenience at the funeral home. Memorials have been established to the Senior Citizen Center and First United Methodist Church. Rodgers was born April 25, 1899 on a farm north of Fairfield, the son of John T. and Elizabeth L. Davis Rodgers. A retired farmer, he was employed by several businesses in Fairfield, including Zillman Furniture, Goode Implement, Cole Grocery, Van's Grocery, Coast-to-Coast Store, and Lunkman Hardware. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Modern Woodmen of America, the Senior Citizens Chorus, and the International Order of Odd Fellows. On Feb. 14, 1922 in Fairfield, he married Maude M. Murdock, who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Donald of Red Oak, Lynn of Fairfield; a daughter, Jeanine Paul of Marietta, Ill.; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; a sister, Edith August of Fairfield and a brother, Elmer of Maryland. Four brothers and a sister preceded him in death.
