Description	:	William D. Hardester William D. Hardester, 67, of Westover, a retired insurance executive, died on Sunday, July 6th in Peninsula General Hospital in Salisbury after a short illness. His wife, Mrs. Ada Lee Lawson Hardester, died in May. Mr. Hardester was founder of the Hardester Corp., an insurance firm with its main office in Salisbury. His son-in-law, William C. Bicknell of Salisbury is the firm's president. Mr. Hardester was in the insurance business about forty years. He was a past member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary and a past Flotilla 12-1 commander and past division captain of the Auxiliary's Division XII of the Lower Eastern Shore. Born in Salisbury, he was a son of the late Abram Lemuel and Eva Alice Daugherty Hardester. His family also lived in Crisfield and Pocomoke City. Surviving are two daughters, three granddaughters; a brother, Allen L. Hardester, Crisfield and one nephew. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, July 9th in the Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury. District Supt. David Baker of Salisbury United Methodist District and Mr. Handester's son-in-law, the Rev. Paul Dawson officiated. Interment was in Crisfield Sunnyridge Memorial Park. The family suggests that as a tribute to the memory of the deceased, contributions may be made to the Peninsula General Hospital coronary care unit.
