Description	:	Another of Fairview's older citizens has passed away. Mr. W.F. Isely died early Wednesday evening, Oct. 14, 1959 at the Cavender Rest Home in Sabetha where he had been cared for for several weeks. He had been as well as usual, had eaten his supper and laid down to rest and quietly slept away between 7 and 7:30. Read More	Another of Fairview's older citizens has passed away. Mr. W.F. Isely died early Wednesday evening, Oct. 14, 1959 at the Cavender Rest Home in Sabetha where he had been cared for for several weeks. He had been as well as usual, had eaten his supper and laid down to rest and quietly slept away between 7 and 7:30. He had been in failing health for several years and had been cared for in Rest Homes. He had undergone surgery for cataracts but his sight has been impaired for a number of years, lately to the extent he could not read. He is survived by his wife of the home; one daughter, Mrs. Harvey Rieger; one grandchild, Mrs. Wilbur Hartter; and eight great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon, Oct. 17, at 2 p.m. from the United Church of Christ with the pastor Rev. John Kochner officiating Burial was in the Isely cemetery. Mr. Isely was a member of a pioneer family that settled this part of Kansas. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Isely and was born on the farm where his daughter now lives on July 13, 1873. He was married March 7, 1895 to Maude E. Jones of Fairview and they lived on the farm until 1912 when they moved to their present home in Fairview. Mr. Isely was a "well read" man. He kept abreast of the times by continual reading and study and the partial loss of his sight was a great hindrance to him. He was a familiar figure about town as long as his health permitted and could impart a world of knowledge to those younger about the history of this country, this town. He was a life long member of the United Church of Christ and was one of its staunchest supporters. He was interested in the schools of the community, liked to see progress.
