Description	:	William Fred Janssen was born November 29, 1887, at Beatrice, Nebraska, the son of Henry and Wubeka (sic) Janssen. He lived at Syracuse, Nebraska, as a boy before coming to Nuckolls County. Mr. Janssen was married to Nora Kramer on December 5, 1917, at Hastings, Nebraska. To this union were born four children, Lorene Adamson of Geneva, Nebraska, Dale Janssen of Mexico, Missouri, Nellie Littrell of Nelson, and Ruth Wehrman of Littleton, Nebraska. Mr. Janssen was married to Nora Kramer on December 5, 1917, at Hastings, Nebraska. He was baptized in the Nelson Christian Church February 15, 1925. He was a member of the I.O.O.F. Lodge, No. 77 of Nelson. Since coming to Nuckolls Co., Mr. Janssen has lived in the Nelson community except for a 12 year stay at Grant City, Missouri. His occupation was farming. Mr. Janssen passed away June 15, 1964, at his home in Nelson. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Bernard Janssen. He is survived by his wife and children and 11 grandchildren. There are three living sisters, Lula Ritterbush of Nelson, Anna Skinner of Edgar and Ella Comstock of Nelson and two brothers, Fred Janssen of Nelson and Herman Janssen of Grant City, Missouri. Services were held at the Christian Church in Nelson on Wednesday, June 17, 1964, with the Rev. Victor O. Schwarz officiating. Casket bearers were Mr. Adamson, Louis Petz, Ralph Morehead, Ralph Aikin, Fredo Bergman and Loy Davidsen. Burial was in the Nelson Cemetery. Klawitter Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
