Read More	The Concordia News Monday April 24, 1933 Page 1 Fred Barber, of Ames, Ends Life with Rope His Lifeless Body found This Morning in the Barn – Had Been Brooding Over Finances Fred Barber, a farmer living three miles west and one mile north of Ames, committed suicide at an early hour this morning. Mr. Barber arose earlier than usual and when Mrs. Barber arose and went to the kitchen, she noticed that he did not start a fire in the kitchen stove as was his usual custom. Mrs. Barber went to the barn to assist with the milking and when she entered the barn, she saw his lifeless body hanging from the rafters of the barn. Dr. H. E. Doty, coroner, was called, but decided that an inquest was unnecessary, as it was plainly a case of suicide. Mr. Barber was a man about 42 years of age and had been brooding over financial matters for some time, according to reports from several of his neighbors. He is survived by a wife and five children. Mrs. Barber before her marriage was Miss Odella Richa, of Concordia.
