Busier was born in Center county, Pa., April 7, 1843, and died in Naponee, Nebraska, where he had gone to attend the funeral of his sister, Friday morning, March 22, 1912, aged 68 years, 11 months, and fifteen days, or sixteen days less than 69 years. His mother died when he was small and his father and grandmother then brought the children to Iowa when he was about seven years of age. In those days there were no trains, nor railway service, and the journey was made by wagon and ferry boat. He was married to its Adelia Super, April 3, 1864, by Rev. Kynette, the ceremony being performed in Tipton. To this union ten children were born. Three of these died in infancy. Seven grew to manhood and womanhood and are as follows: Mrs. B. J. Laucamp, Mrs. Ed Laucamp, Mrs. John Gay, Winifield L., Mrs. Alvin Johnson, Harman G., and Miss Rose. The first one of the adults to be called away was Mrs. Gay, who departed May 8, 1904. The next was the mother, March 14, 1908. Harmon G. ceased from his labors November 8, 1911, and now the father has been called to join them; seven of the family on the other shore ad five yet with us. The family had lived practically their entire lives in this vicinity. In early married life they resided at Bennett for about a year and then returned to the old home. Mr. Busier heard the call for volunteers and enlisted in Company C., 24th Iowa, August 27, 1862, and as one of his comrades said, "Was a good soldier." He has always taken a deep interest in the local post and has been honored by his comrades with the highest offices. He has been honorable and kind to his neighbors and friends, respected and esteemed by his fellow citizens. Some twenty-for years ago he united with the Reformed church of Tipton, under the pastorate of Rev. G D. Gurley and remained a member to the time of his decease. Funeral services were held at the Reformed church Tuesday, March 26th, at 1:30 p. m. in charge of Rev. Naly. The body was laid to rest in the Sheldon cemetery. Attending reunion of 24th Iowa-- The Tipton veteran members of the 24th Iowa Infty. are at Mr. Vernon this week mingling in reunion with their surviving comrades of that famous Iowa regiment. Of the two companies raised at Tipton only eight of the survivors now live here. All went to Mt. Vernon yesterday. They are as follows: Co.B; Johnson Spear, Silas Munn, S. P. Foy and Dan Ford; Co.
