Description	:	The Belleville Telescope, June 1, 1989 William George Woodside, Sr., son of Virgil V. and Laura Burkhart Woodside, was born July 20, 1923, at Hubbell, and died May 28, 1989, at the V.A. Hospital in Omaha, Nebr., at the age of 65 years, 10 months and eight days. He graduated form Haddam High School in 1941. He attended the Coyne Electrical School in Chicago, Ill., graduating in 1942. Hospital in Omaha, Nebr., at the age of 65 years, 10 months and eight days. He graduated form Haddam High School in 1941. He attended the Coyne Electrical School in Chicago, Ill., graduating in 1942. He entered the U.S. Army in 1943, and served in the Southern Philippines as a amphibious tractor driver, where he was wounded by shrapnel. He was discharged in 1945 with the rank of T/5. He was united in marriage to Ann Rice, December 2, 1945, and to this union three sons were born. He was united in marriage to Novella Greenwood Ebeling, July 21, 1986. He was a lifelong resident of Haddam. He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Haddam, American Legion of Haddam, Veterans of Foreign Wars of Fairbury, Disabled American Veterans, National Fur Harvesters and Kansas Fur Harvesters associations. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Violet; one grandson, Jeffery; and step-grandson, Chad Clay. He is survived by his wife, Norvella of the home; three sons, William G. Jr., of Blue Rapids, Stephen of Corrigan, Tex., Jimmie of Haddam; two step-daughters, one step-son, six grandchildren, nine step-grandchildren; one great-grandson. Funeral services were held at the United Methodist Church of Haddam Wednesday, May 31 at 2 p.m., conducted by Rev. Andy Torres. Graveside services were conducted by the American Legion Post No. 302, Haddam. Interment was in Hubbell Cemetery. Bachelor-Faulkner-Dart Funeral Home was in charge.
