ORANGEVILLE BANNER - 4 July 1935: ****************************** William Gray, one of our elderly citizens and for many years a farmer in Amaranth, passed away at his home on John Street on Sunday, June 23rd in his 83rd year. Although he had far outlived the allotted span of life, Mrs. Gray was in excellent health up to the time of his demise. He expired suddenly while seated at the tea table in his home. He lived and farmed in Amaranth until fifteen years ago, when he retired and came to Orangeville. The late Mr. Gray was a quiet, reserved man, honorable in his dealings and a first-class neighbor. Formerly a member of Laurel Methodist Church, he had been identified with First Avenue United Church since coming to Orangeville. He was Liberal in politics and a staunch temperance man. There was a large attendance at the funeral which was held to Laurel Cemetery.
