Graf, 70, resident of David City for more than 50 years, passed away at his home on Friday, April 18, from heart failure. Funeral services were held at 10 o’clock Monday morning in St. Mary’s Catholic church, in charge of Rev. Wm. Murphy. The pallbearers were six nephews of Mr. Graf, John Knott, Francis Knott, Theodore Knott, John Peters, Wm. Rubenthaler and Wm. Rubenthaler Jr. Burial was in St. Mary’s cemetery. Out-of-town relatives in attendance at the funeral included Mr. and Mrs. Wm. J. Graf and daughters, Waco; Mr. and Mrs. H. H. Hawkins, Omaha; Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Rutten and granddaughter and Mr. and Mrs. Leo Graf, Kearney; Wm. Rubenthaler and son, Gothenburg; Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Knott, Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Knott, Mr. and Mrs. Francis Knott and son and Mrs. Frank Kindler, Omaha; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Vandenberg and family, Brainard; Mrs. H. E. Kuehl and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Kuehl and daughter, Omaha; and Joe Litty. William J. Graf, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Graf was born at Iowa City, Iowa, Feb. 26, 1877. He was married in David City on Jan. 8, 1902, to Frances Macura, who survives him. To them were born eight children, of whom three died in infancy. The surviving children are William J. Graf of Waco, Mrs. H. H. Hawkins of Omaha, Mrs. Leo Delaney of Los Angeles, Calif., Leo F. and Catherine Graf of David City. Besides his wife and children, he leaves four granddaughters, also three sisters, Mrs. Albert Peters and Mrs. Kate Knott of David City and Mrs. Theodore Rutten of Kearney. Mr. Graf formerly was employed with the Imperial Mills until he and his son Leo went into the feed milling business in 1930.
