Description	:	William John Baker was born August 13, 1851, in Wheeling, West Virginia, and departed this life Saturday, April 19, at the Superior hospital, aged 78 years, 8 months, 6 days. In early youth he moved with his parents to a farm near Clarington, Ohio, where he grew to manhood. On March 25, 1876, he was married to Louisa Rugsegger (sic). To this union six children were born. Read More	William John Baker was born August 13, 1851, in Wheeling, West Virginia, and departed this life Saturday, April 19, at the Superior hospital, aged 78 years, 8 months, 6 days. In early youth he moved with his parents to a farm near Clarington, Ohio, where he grew to manhood. On March 25, 1876, he was married to Louisa Rugsegger (sic). To this union six children were born. His wife and daughter, Hattie, passed away in 1917 and one babe died in infancy. Because of poor health he came west in 1885 settling in Nelson, which place has been his home since. He leaves to mourn his departure, two daughters and two sons: Mrs. Maggie Norwood of Nelson; Mrs. Edna Clements, Benkelman, Nebr.; Clarence W. of San Juan, Porto Rico, in the Navy; and Hazlitt D. of Sheridan, Wyoming; four grand children, Billy Baker, Homer, Robert and Doris Clements; also one brother and one sister, and a host of friends. All the children were present at the funeral except Clarence. Mr. Baker was a contractor and builder, many of the finest homes in Nelson being a monument of his handiwork. The funeral services were held in the Nelson Methodist church on Monday afternoon conducted by the Rev. W.B. Zimmerman, at half past two o'clock. The Nelson Gazette, Thursday, April 24, 1930
