Description	:	Dayton Review May 28, 1903 BURNETT William Lester Burnett was born on a farm near this place, September 6, 1866, and died at the home of his parents in Dayton at twelve o'clock, Sunday night, May 17, 1903, his age being 36 years, 8 months and 11 days. Read More	Dayton Review May 28, 1903 BURNETT William Lester Burnett was born on a farm near this place, September 6, 1866, and died at the home of his parents in Dayton at twelve o'clock, Sunday night, May 17, 1903, his age being 36 years, 8 months and 11 days. He was reared in this vicinity, being married November 17, 1891 to Miss Mary F. Lane, who survives him, together with a son, Cyrus, aged seven years, and a daughter, Margaret, aged five, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Cyrus Burnett, his brother, H. H. Burnett, of Chaldron, Nebraska, and his sister, Miss Jennie Burnett, of Denver, Colorado, all of whom were present to attend the funeral. Will, as he was familiarly called, was a member of Oak Lodge, A.F. & A.M. of this place, which organization had charge of his funeral exercises, the funeral being held from Grace M. E. church, Rev. Culver preaching the sermon. H.A. Cook, Worshipfull Master of Ashler Lodge of Fort Dodge conducted the Masonic services at the grave. A number of his Masonic brethren from Fort Dodge were down to attend the funeral. Mr. Burnett was an active citizen always taking a deep interest in public affairs, being for many years, clerk of the town of Dayton. For a number of years he was a boot and shoe merchant at this place, and was afterward on the road for a boot and shoe firm in Des Moines. His remains were laid to rest in Dayton cemetery, followed by lifelong friends to his last resting place. The sympathy of the many friends of the family go with them in their hour of sorrow.
