"Bill" Heston, 77, died at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Jefferson County Hospital where he had been a patient the past eight days. He had been in failing helath the past 18 months. Members of the family will be at the funeral home Thursday evening, June 8, from 7:30 to 9 p.m. to greet friends. William M. Heston was born July 12, 1894, in Jefferson County and lived in this community his entire life. He was the son of Charles and Sarah Amis Heston (sic). His marriage to Laura M. Anderson took place Feb. 11, 1914. She died Oct. 8, 1967. The family farm is located five miles south of Fairfield. He was a member of the Elks and Eagles Lodges. Survivors include three sons, Kenneth, Tampa, Fla.; Richard and Doyle, both of route 3 (sic), Fairfield; seven grandchildren; four brothers and two sisters, Faye Heston, Rock Island, Ill.; Leroy Heston, Knoxville; Fred of Agency; Floyd, Davenport; and Nellie Saurs, Davenport, and Edith Case, Davenport. He was preceded in death by five sisters.
