Description	:	William Oliver De Vore (sic), son of John and Esther De Vore (sic), was born December 23, 1881 in Nuckolls County, Nebraska. He departed this life May 7, 1964 at the age of 82 years, 5 month (sic) in the Blue Valley Nursing Home in Hebron, Nebraska. William De Vore was baptized and received into the EUB Church, Angus, Nebr. in 1905, of which he was an active member as long as he was able. William De Vore and Elsie Grossman were united in marriage December 25, 1907. To this happy union was born one son, Charles Marvin De Vore.... His wife, Elsie, passed away Feb. 8, 1939, and his son, Charles Marvin, passed away Aug. 14, 1947. On April 2, 1941, he married Pearl Robinson in Clay Center, Nebr. He took his wife to a home east of Angus where they operated a swimming pool for many years. They continued farming for several years after they closed the pool. William and Pearl retired from the farm in 1962 and moved to a new home in Edgar. Because of failing health, they moved to the Blue Valley Home in Hebron. William, or "Bill" as he was known to most of his friends, was preceded in death by his parents, John and Esther, two sister (sic), Ella Kincannon and Ethel Judy, and 8 brothers, James, Alvin, Albert, Noah, Frank, Johnnie, Ernie and Clarence. He is survived by his wife, Pearl; a sister-in-law, Kate De Vore of Davenport; four grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews, and a host of friends. The funeral was held at the Angus EUB Church, May 11, 1964. Rev. Clarence Mersch of York, Nebr. officiated. Mrs. Loren Jensen and Mrs. Merton McCartney song (sic) "Beyond the Sunset", "Garden of Memories", and "No Night There". They were accompanied by Mrs. Charles Skinner. Pallbearers were Carl Jorgensen, Brady De Vore, Ivan Melton, Charles De Vore, Donald De Vore and Orvis Jones. Burial was in the Edgar cemetery (sic).
