Description	:	J.B. Devore of Angus, and (sic) early settler of this section, died Monday at the age of sixty-eight years. The funeral services were conducted at the U.B. Church at 2:30 o'clock on Wednesday afternoon, Evangelist W.M. Etherton assisted the local pastor. The Pleasant View quartette furnished the music. The Nelson Gazette, Thursday, July 16, 1931; pg. 5 ================================= James Berry Devore (sic), husband of Ada Devore (sic), was born in the state of Illinois, February 11, 1863; departed this life July 13, 1931, at his home near Angus. Mr. Devore (sic) came to this state when a boy. March 28, 1889, he was united in marriage to Ada Grossman. To this union were born four children: Roy, Owen, May and Ethel. When a young man he accepted Jesus at his Savior and united with the United Brethren church (sic) at Angus and was a faithful worker until his health failed. His home was always the minister's home and he was also a friend to the minister. The last Sunday he was able to be out found him at Sunday school and church. He is survived by his wife and four children: Roy, Owen, Ethel Melvin of near Angus, and May Ahrens of near Edgar; eight grand children, six brothers, one sister, Mrs. Ethel Judy of Angus, Alvin, Wm., Elbert Lee and Ernest of Angus, Frank of Peoria, Ills.; Noah of Tennessee; and other relatives and many friends.
